The N95 Mask Fit Testing service is designed to ensure that participants are properly fitted with an N95 mask that provides an effective seal and appropriate protection. During the appointment, participants will undergo a fit test to determine whether the selected N95 mask fits their face correctly. Proper mask fit is essential for helping reduce exposure to airborne contaminants in workplaces where respiratory protection is required.

N95 Mask Fit Testing is available by appointment. Participants are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes prior booking and follow all pre-appointment requirements to avoid delays or the need to reschedule their test.
A certificate is issued upon successful completion of the N95 Mask Fit Testing appointment. Certification is valid for one (1) year.

A: N95 Respirator Fit Testing is recommended for healthcare workers, construction and trades workers, cleaning and building service workers, laboratory and clinical personnel, students completing practicum or workplace placements, and anyone who is required to wear a tight-fitting N95 respirator as part of their job or workplace respiratory protection requirements.
A: No. An N95 mask is included as part of the fit testing fee.
A: Facial hair that interferes with the sealing surface of the respirator must be removed before the appointment to allow the N95 respirator to form an appropriate seal.
A: WorkSafeBC requires respirator fit testing to be completed at least once every year to ensure that the respirator continues to provide an effective seal and proper fit. A new fit test may also be required sooner if you change the brand, model, or size of the mask, or if there are changes to your physical condition that could affect how the respirator fits your face.
A: Yes. Participants who successfully complete the fit testing appointment will receive an N95 Mask Fit Testing certificate.
