Introduction to Building Property Maintenance

Overview

This comprehensive twelve-week program introduces learners to the field of Property Maintenance. Students will gain essential knowledge and practical competencies required to work safely within building maintenance settings, including Safe Work Practices and WHMIS, Basic Tool Usage, Facilities Care and Cleaning, and Lush Landscaping. Upon completion, learners will be well-prepared to continue their training through the Building Service Worker Certificate pathway.

  • Western Workforce Skills & Training Centre reserves the right to cancel or reschedule the course due to insufficient enrollment, instructor unavailability, unforeseen circumstances, or events beyond its control. In such cases, learners will be notified in advance for rescheduling.

A: No prior experience is required. This course is designed for beginners who are interested in starting a career in building and property maintenance. 

A: Yes. The program includes practical, hands-on training in areas such as tool usage, cleaning and facility care, basic repairs, and landscaping, in addition to classroom instruction. 

A: Graduates may pursue entry-level roles such as building maintenance worker, campsite attendant, handman/woman, facility caretaker. The course also prepares learners to continue into a Building Service Worker Certificate program.
