Basic First Aid with CPR/AED Level C

Overview

Basic First Aid, CPR/AED C (one-day course) prepares participants with necessary hands-on training to confidently respond to immediate, life-threatening emergencies. It is designed to meet workplace safety standards in British Columbia, and is ideal for professionals in healthcare, childcare, hospitality, construction, and other public-facing roles.

Participants gain essential knowledge, skills, and confidence through guided instruction and practical scenarios, enabling effective response to emergencies involving adults, children, and infants.

Course content: 

  • Emergency scene assessment and responder safety 
  • Overview of the EMS system, including how and when to call for help 
  • Primary survey (ABCs – Airway, Breathing, Circulation) 
  • Airway and breathing emergencies  
  • Cardiovascular emergencies 
  • Sudden medical emergencies (e.g., allergic reactions, seizures, stroke, heart attack) 
  • Wound care

Change, Refund, and Return Policy: 

  • Learners may request one-time course rescheduling or transfer to another available session. The request must be made at least three (3) business days prior to course start date. Transfers are subject to seat availability.  
  • Full refunds will be provided if the request to cancel has been received more than a week (7 days) before the course start date or Western Workforce Skills Training Centre cancels or reschedules the course.  
  • No refund will be issued if a registered participant is late, absent, or cancelled within the day.

Standard First Aid covers all the topics covered in the Basic First Aid course and has significantly more hands-on practice delivered over two days. This course provides a more in-depth approach.

A: No. The course is suitable for beginners and includes guided, hands-on instruction to support learners with no prior experience.
