Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C

Overview

The Standard First Aid with CPR/AED Level C course provides learners with comprehensive training preparing them to respond confidently to medical emergencies, injuries, and cardiac incidents. This course meets generally distinguished workplace and regulatory standards in British Columbia and is acknowledged across healthcare, education, construction, childcare, and service industries. Participants develop the skills necessary to act quickly, calmly, and effectively in high-pressure emergency situations.

With our hands-on training and realistic settings, participants develop practical experience in CPR, AED use, and first aid procedures for adults, children, and infants. The course highlights emergency preparedness, safety, and smart decision-making, preparing participants to help protect lives in the workplace and in the community.

Course content: 

  • Emergency scene assessment and responder safety
  • Overview of the EMS system, including how and when to call for help
  • Primary survey (ABCs – Airway, Breathing, Circulation) and secondary survey
  • CPR and AED use
  • Airway and breathing emergencies
  • Cardiovascular emergencies
  • Sudden medical emergencies (e.g., allergic reactions, seizures, stroke, heart attack)
  • Opioid overdose recognition and naloxone administration
  • Burns and heat- and cold-related emergencies
  • Bone, muscle, and joint injuries
  • External and internal bleeding
  • Head, neck, and spinal injuries
  • Other incidents, including bites and stings, substance use, minor wound care (bruising and puncture wounds), and drowning emergencies

Change, Refund, and Return Policy: 

  • Learners may request one-time course rescheduling or transfer to another available session. The request must be made at least three (3) business days prior to course start date. Transfers are subject to seat availability 
  • Full refunds will be provided to paying participants if the request to cancel has been received more than a week (7 days) before the course starts or Western Workforce Skills Training Centre cancels or reschedules the course.  
  • No refund will be issued if a registered participant is late, absent, or cancelled within the day.

A: If you do not pass the exam on your first attempt, you must retake the course and pay for the full course price. 

A: Yes. FoodSafe Level 1 is identified by health authorities throughout British Columbia and accepted by employers within the province. 

A: No. Anyone can take FoodSafe Level 1. Many students and job seekers complete the training to increase employability, prepare for future roles, or meet volunteer requirements. 

A: Yes. Holding a FoodSafe Level 1 certificate demonstrates workplace readiness, responsibility, and safety awareness, making you more competitive for food service, hospitality, and related roles. 


A: Participants should bring a valid photo ID and a pen or pencil. A course booklet will be provided by Western Workforce Skills Training Center.
