FoodSafe Level 1 is an acknowledged food safety certification in British Columbia and is a requirement for most jobs in the food service and hospitality industries. This one-day course is delivered through Western Workforce Skills Training Center’s practical and skill-based training approach that provides learners with the knowledge and skills to prevent foodborne illness, handle and safely store food, and follow workplace sanitation standards that align with provincial health guidelines.
This course is suitable for food handlers, cooks, servers, and those preparing for supervisory roles in restaurants, hotels, catering operations, and care facilities. FoodSafe Level 1 also benefits individuals and job seekers aiming to increase employability and enter the workforce with confidence.
